Do pets really miss their owners?

My wife was admitted to the hospital unexpectedly. My Bichon poodle mix cried inconsolably for two nights, sitting by the front door. She would not eat. I called the doctor who gave me permission to bring her in to visit my wife at the hospital. She got into the hospital bed with my wife, buried her head against my wife’s neck, and cried for an hour. That night she got in bed with me and went to sleep under my arm with her head on my chest. We visited my wife again the next night and my dog accepted that my wife was not at home. dogs welcoming soldiers home compilation.
